Terms of Use

The agreement between you and us when you use Egopay. Egopay is an Aurora Ivy product.

1. Who we are

Egopay is operated by Michael Munz, trading as Aurora Ivy, Kasernenstr. 1, 71272 Renningen, Germany. Contact: michael.munz@aurora-ivy.tech. Full legal details are in the Imprint.

2. The product

Egopay is a budgeting web application based on the Kakebo method and the 50 / 30 / 20 rule. It runs in your browser; your data is stored on our service provider's servers in the European Union (see the Privacy Policy). Egopay is an organizational budgeting tool; it is not financial, tax or investment advice and it never accesses your bank accounts.

3. Free version and paid plans

Free version: the full basic budgeting experience — plan your month, track transactions, and use both budgeting methods. There is no time limit, so you can use it as long as you like before buying.

Paid plans: Plus and Premium extend the service (the plan contents are shown on the website and at checkout). Paid plans are optional subscriptions.

4. Purchases, price, and payment

Prices are shown on the website at the time of purchase and include applicable VAT where required. Payments are handled by our payment service provider, Stripe, who processes the payment, invoices, VAT, and card processing. Their terms apply to the checkout and payment.

5. Subscriptions

A subscription renews automatically at the billing period you choose (monthly) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current paid period — through the “Cancel contract” button in your account settings, or by any clear statement to us. We confirm the receipt of your cancellation without delay. The subscription stays active until the end of the paid period.

6. Refunds

Please see “Right of withdrawal & refunds” below.

7. Acceptable use

You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the service except as allowed by law, or use it to infringe the rights of others. You are responsible for the data you enter and for having the rights to it.

8. Intellectual property

The service, its branding, and documentation are owned by Aurora Ivy and its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws.

9. Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranty of any kind, and our liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for the product. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent, gross negligence, or personal injury. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the version in effect at the time of your purchase applies. Material changes will be posted on this page.

11. Governing law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence continue to apply. The European Commission's ODR platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025; we are not obliged to participate in consumer arbitration.

12. Availability and updates

We maintain and update the service continuously. Paid plans include updates and new features while they are active. Beyond what your plan includes we are not obliged to provide further updates.

Right of withdrawal & refunds

Plain language on cancellations and refunds for Egopay.

1. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, this right is lost once we begin performance, provided that at the time of purchase you expressly agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU).

2. What this means for Egopay

When you take out a paid plan, the service begins immediately. At checkout you are asked to confirm that you want immediate access and understand that your 14-day right of withdrawal ends once the service begins. Once the service has begun, we do not offer a withdrawal refund.

3. Refunds for defects

If the service is defective or does not work as described, we will fix it or refund you. To process a defect refund we ask for a short description of the problem and, where possible, the steps to reproduce it. This lets us confirm the issue and improve the product.

4. What a refund does

If a refund is approved, the paid plan is cancelled and the account reverts to the free version. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

5. How to ask for a refund

Email michael.munz@aurora-ivy.tech with your account details and the problem. We answer within a few business days. Payments, invoices, and card disputes are handled by our payment service provider, Stripe, who may also contact you.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights that cannot be waived, including your rights if the service is faulty or not as described. Where you are entitled to a remedy under mandatory law, that remedy applies.

Withdraw from the contract

Use the “Cancel contract” button in your account settings, or this form, to declare your withdrawal. We confirm the receipt of your request without delay. If you would rather write to us, email michael.munz@aurora-ivy.tech.
